Pandora
Thank Goodness that Kristin over at Little Miss Glamoour mentioned Pandora in her most recent post or else I wouldn't have remembered the question I've been wanting to ask ALL YEAR! What stations are there on Pandora that are school appropriate? I just want to let the music play and not have to race over each time a new song starts to make sure it's OK. I've tried Disney, but that got old quickly. Help! Thanks :)
Hi, I haven't used Pandora but I've seen others post about it. Please be cautious because a teacher shared that she had on an appropriate station, yet there was an inappropriate add that played...oohh.. I just found the post in Google Reader..check it out....http://frogsbeesundertheseas.blogspot.com/2011/03/declaration-of-guilt.html I'd read this before proceeding in your classroom. Thanks, Nancy

I've heard the same. The stations are fine but the ads can be anything. I would not use it unless you are close to your computer and can mute it when the ads come on.

When you sign up on Pandora, or in the area where you can change your password, etc. you can click "do not allow explicit content to play"
ReplyDeleteI play it in my 4th grade classroom and I haven't noticed any inappropriate ads. My kids like to listen to Disney songs, instrumental jazz and bluegrass, and classical.
ReplyDeleteMy students like The Piano Guys and the Harry Potter stations for work times and Kidz Bop and Disney for fun time! :-)
