Real Photo Writing Prompt Cards, Throwback Thursday, and a BTS Sale!!

I recently added a new item for your writing center!
These are real photo writing prompt cards to help your kiddos get their thinking started.
Each photo is clearly labeled and they can also be sorted by category.
Here is how I have my cards set up in my room.
Laminated and hole punched and then put on a ring divided by the header cards.
Here they are in my writing center basket.

There are 10 different categories with 4 cards for each category. That makes 40 cards for kids to look through, if desired!
Click the picture below to be taken to my TpT store!
These will be on sale until tonight at midnight. Enjoy :)

I'm also posting for Throwback Thursday. This was originally posted on October 21, 2011 and contains a few freebies :)

So right now we are learning all about Bats, Birds, and Owls. We are comparing Bats to Birds and then more specifically Bats to Owls and we are doing a lot of great thinking. I wanted to share some of our Thinking Maps that we are working on and also some of our fun crafts.
Feel free to use and incorporate into your own October unit this year.
We read Stellaluna and then did a Bats/Birds Double Bubble map.

The next day I read Stellaluna again and we made a story map altogether. For a fun activity we traced bats and wrote elements of the story on the bats in white crayon.

I think they turned out adorable! :)

On Monday we will read some Bat fact books and make a tree map.
Here is an owl tree map we will complete before we do our Bats and Owls Double Bubble to wrap up the week.

Bats/Owls Double Bubble

We will finish up by doing a super cute owl craft that I don't yet have a picture of! :)

This is my absolute favorite time of year- I love the theme of owls and bats and Halloween books!

What is your favorite topic to teach each year?

Happy teaching,
