Ever have one of *those* days?

No no no... not one of THOSE days!

Today I had an a.maz.ing day! Seriously y'all, I got CHILLS when I was teaching a lesson this morning because it was going so well!

I looked around at my first grade friends and they were ALL engaged. No one was whispering to their neighbor. No one was asking to go to the bathroom. They were all looking and listening.

Was my lesson something extraordinary? In the words of my favorite blue cat: "Goodness NO!" But for some reason, the stars aligned today.

Can I just say, I LOVE MY JOB! Teacher friends- that is why we teach. For that feeling I had today!

I'm thinking that this year is going to be one where I get that feeling a LOT and I am so excited!

Last year was.... rough. I had a few friends in my class that had a tough year AND we got new report cards last year so I felt frazzled all year.

But I am so excited and ready for this year. YAY!

How about you? How do you feel about this year so far? I'd love to hear about it!

Linking up with Curious Firsties for Wednesday WOW!

  5. I am a first year teacher in 2nd grade (after doing subbing for 2 years) and I LOVE my class! It is so wonderful calling them MY class. I am pretty spoiled, I got a marvelous group of 16 little ones who are as sweet as they can get. Very hard working too. I am also super grateful for teachers like you who share your experience and materials. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!

I'm so glad that your first year is going so well! It really does feel amazing to simply have your own class.

      Thanks again!

I tried to email this to you personally, but you are a no-reply blogger. That means your email isn't connect to your blog account so it makes it harder for people to get in touch. I hope you see this! :)
